Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc. (CMT) ( is looking for self-motivated, engaging candidates to join our team due to the continued growth in our structural bridge department. The position includes the opportunity to join our growing structural group as a structural project engineer to lead bridge and structure related tasks or projects, build relationships with clients, develop and mentor staff, and coordinate with structural staff in other offices. Our ideal candidate must also demonstrate a strong team approach, flexibility to adjust as project and workload demands and a willingness to collaborate while having the ability to work independently and effectively in various work environments. Successful candidates have the potential to learn and develop leadership organizational skills to enhance your growth potential. Your contributions will help our staff excel in project delivery and technical development and will positively impact our continued growth. Due to our strong backlog of work, CMT is looking to hire in multiple markets, to include the Chicago- metro area, Ohio, and/or the St. Louis metro area.

CMT prides itself in our flexible, client-focused approach to project delivery, but there are some elements we feel very strongly about in regard to a potential candidate:

  • Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, Master's preferred, with a concentration in Structural, from an accredited university
  • Past progressive structural engineering experience, 4+ years preferred, with emphasis on roadway/highway bridge and structure design
  • Licensed Professional Engineer; Structural Engineer preferred.
  • Proficient with MicroStation and various bridge and structure analysis software
  • Experience working with local agencies and State DOTs preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong professional network and participation in professional organizations for continuous improvement of technical skills
