Jr. Experienced CIVIL ENGINEER

Position Location: AURORA or ROCKFORD, IL

As a civil engineer with CMT, the successful candidate will assist on a variety of engineering projects working closely with engineers, technicians and managers in planning, design and construction of transportation and municipal civil projects. Work tasks may include design, report writing, field investigations, cost estimating, construction observation, attendance at client meetings and travel to project sites. Periodic construction observation and materials testing assignments may also be required. This is a position for an exceptional individual ready to begin the next stage of their professional career within CMT


  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university with appropriate course work in civil site development and/or transportation design.
  • Minimum 5 years of civil engineering experience with demonstrated technical design & construction expertise in transportation or site development disciplines.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois or the ability to gain licensure in Illinois
  • Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD and Civil 3D for site modeling and analysis are preferred.
  • Interest in experiencing a variety of assignments is important.
  • Must be willing to accept periodic out of town travel assignments and work overtime to meet project demands.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship.
  • Acceptable driving record and valid driver's license.
